ESC Marine vertical centrifugal pump

 First.  Summar

ESC type is used chiefly for cooling fresh water,cooling sea water , sea water service ,bilge & ballast, fire & general sercice. The pump can be used as an automatic self-priming pump by fitting an air ejector.

This type vertical centrifugal pump has been for convenience of shipboard outfitting and special consideration has been given to such points as minimizing the area of installation ,ease of overhaul and at the same time reduction of maintenance cost, and smooth opration.

1.Inlet and outlet are arranged in a line.

 2.The replacement of the mechanical seal is possible without opening the pump.It is constructed in such a way that a cover is provided at the top and the rotating element can belifted and horizontally moved to an open space for overhauling.

 3.Hyperstatic structure is adopted, so the rigidity of the rotation elments.

 4. Double volute design is adopted for the pump casing ,so radial thrust on the impeller becomes minimum.

 5.The axial thrust is caused by the weight of the rotating element alone and it is so designed as to balance the the hydraulic thrust.

 6 The shaft power curve have a highest point,so it is not overload the motor power in any conditions.

 7.The impeller is of single suction and in order to improve suction performance Francis vanes are Adopted.

Second.   Construction and Materials

ESC type vertical centrifugal pump is solid with spacer oupling, the pump can be disassembled or inspected without removing the motor.

The shaft sealing is mechnical or glandpacking.

The air ejector is attached to the pump body as a device of ejecting air so that it enables the pump to have an ability of  self-priming.
